What will the apprentice be doing?
· To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment both indoors and outdoors at all times
· To deliver appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress
· Adhering to the school’s policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
· Following the school’s Behaviour Policy, remaining vigilant so that both positive praise and sanctions are given appropriately
· To work in partnership with other colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals
· Working in close co-operation with other school staff, being part of the school team
· To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments
· To liaise with mentor and assessor and prepare yourself for your assessment visits
· Support children to develop numeracy and language skills through play and games
· Contributing to the happy atmosphere of the school
· Having a willingness to undergo relevant training, as available
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
· Level 3 Standard in Early years
· Level 3 NVQ in Early years Practitioner
· Functional skills at Level 2 If required
